NY Times article entitled "
The Smokers' Surcharge" describes how companies are starting to charge individuals with paying more of their own healthcare costs if they are in a higher-risk health group (e.g., smokers, obese, etc). Is it fair to ask people to pay more if their healthcare costs more? What about if they have a health condition that is difficult to modify?
